I am here at the capitol of Missouri, Jefferson City, for some meetings with the state regarding how to improve consultation and colloboration between state and the Native American organizations in the state. Yesterday we had a very successful meeting. We were planning how to implement a two day training on a learning experience curriculum that we developed for the entire country which focuses on historical trauma, policy issues and how to implement the Indian Child Welfare Act. The picture above is not who I was meeting with but it represents the kind of cooperation that has been developed over the last several years between the state and the Native American community.
Today we will be focusing more on the evaluation process. It is a good working group that continues to finds ways to utilize best practices to serve their people. It is rewarding to be part of a team that is committed to delivering the best possible services to our people and all those they serve.
