Today marks the anniversary of 9/11. We all remember where we were on that memorable day. My thoughts and prayers go out to all those who survived and were impacted by this event. One of the consequences of 9/11 is that it triggered fear among the population. Among other things it was a primary factor is our rush to invade Iraq and Afghanistan. When in fear individuals and countries make very bad decisions which can affect us many years from when the event occurred. This week also marks the 10 year anniversary of the financial collapse. Obviously the fear of financial insecurity was triggered by this event as many lost so much and the world was on the verge of a financial collapse. This also led to the rise of populism and eventually Trump was elected. He preyed upon the fears of the people and continues to do so today. It is very timely that Robert Woodwards book called Fear is being released today which gives a chilling account of how Trump has used fear to rule the country.
